The Joyful Turtles - Turbo

I hope you are all happy and healthy.  We are all doing well and enjoying many blessings together.  We wanted to share some photos of the baby shower/prayer meeting that the friends in our Study Circle "The Joyful Turtles - Turbo" held for Layla.  Following is a little summary of the highlights:

Three weekends ago, the members of our study circle planned and held in our home a wonderful devotional gathering/baby shower for Layla.  They asked me for a list of friends we'd like to invite and they did practically all the rest.  It was such a wonderful gathering with over 40 guests, many of whom were old friends and contacts from the women's meetings etc.  The atmosphere was so joyful. A friend made the
introduction beautifully, mentioning how the word shower in "baby shower" is readily associated with showering love.  She went on to say how the main rites of passage in ones life revolve around birth: the birth of a child, the birth of love between 2 resulting in marriage, and birth into the next world.  As the Baha'í Faith is practiced in this home, we do not baptize our children. However, showering little Layla with our
love and prayers is surely a most wonderful gift!  It was really so beautifully put and touching for all.

Sweet little Layla Elisabeth timed her entrance perfectly.  After the devotional programme, she descended the stairs awakening from her nap just in time for her brother to play the flute in her honour. The friends had all pitched in together...  All in all, it was a wonderful opportunity to get back in touch with old friends sharing in the joy of a new birth.
