"Day and night I entreat and supplicate to the Kingdom of God and beg for you infinite assistance and confirmation.  Do not take into consideration your own aptitudes and capacities, but fix your gaze on the consummate bounty, the divine bestowal and the power of the Holy Spirit - the power that converteth the drop into a sea and the star into a sun."

('Abdu'l-Bahá: Selections from the Writings of  'Abdu'l-Bahá, page 104)

Volume 2 - No. 1 - January-March 2004

"O thou dear handmaid of God! Thy letter hath been received and its contents noted. Thou didst ask for a rule whereby to guide thy life.
Believe thou in God, and keep thine eyes fixed upon the exalted Kingdom; be thou enamoured of the Abha Beauty; stand thou firm in the Covenant; yearn thou to ascend into the Heaven of the Universal Light. Be thou severed from this world, and reborn through the sweet scents of holiness that blow from the realm of the All-Highest. Be thou a summoner to love, and be thou kind to all the human race. Love thou the children of men and share in their sorrows. Be thou of those who foster peace. Offer thy friendship, be worthy of trust. Be thou a balm to every sore, be thou a medicine for every ill. Bind thou the souls together. Recite thou the verses of guidance. Be engaged in the worship of thy Lord, and rise up to lead the people aright. Loose thy  tongue and teach, and let thy face be bright with the fire of God's love. Rest thou not for a moment, seek thou to draw no easeful breath. Thus mayest thou become a sign and symbol of God's love, and a banner of His grace."

From Albania to Iceland

To my good luck, I was appointed not only as one of the members of the Organizing Committee but, I was honoured to be in the presence of Amat'ul-Bahá. It was a very special task, the importance of which I would think more of later on. I was blessed to be with Ruhhiyyih Khanum in different meetings, interpreting.

Meditation Circle at Lancaster University

From the beginning, I felt that having a room on campus was an opportunity for having Bahá’í activities and really wanted to make it a service tool for the Faith.

A Short Bahá'í History

Now we have printed some booklets of "A Short Baha'i History" in English. It's possible to order it.

We sold some at the exhibition Carrie arranged in Shetland Museum gallery. Love from Christine.

UCLA Study on Special importance of Friendship between Women

A landmark UCLA study suggests friendships between women are special.  They shape who we are and who we are yet to be.

Establishment of a Bahá'í Women Forum
The Netherlands

Dear ladies of the European Bahá'í Women's Network,

The Dutch Baha'i Women Forum was officially established a year ago last September. During its ‘celebration’ for its first year 'anniversary', there was a National Day organized by the Forum. Please visit the Women Forum website site in Dutch language with a small English section at: http://vrouwenforum.bahai.nl/nieuws_2.html

Dearest EBWN,

I have seen the new issue of EBWN. Although it is only the third issue, it has already changed a lot, offering a wide variety of exciting articles and news.

Edit

Dear Friends,

I am a pioneer living in Japan.
Your web site is very nice. It's wonderful to see what others are doing and to get new ideas. I wonder if any of the teaching tools, stories, role playing, demonstrations, physical exercises, visual aids or diagrams from the Vision Seminar are available online. I'm always looking for new ideas to use with women's groups I work with.
Sincerely,

Donna

I look forward to getting on with it – but am already finding that the Vision Seminar is influencing a lot of my work and understanding – at last the whole systemic thinking bit seems to have clicked into place, and I am finding I can use it to influence the parenting and childminding training I am running – as well as it having given me useful exercises to share.

"If the friends always waited until they were fully qualified to do any particular task, the work of the Cause would be almost at a standstill! But the very act of striving to serve, however unworthy one may feel, attracts the blessings of God and enables one to become more fitted for the task."
