From Albania to Iceland

Dear EBWN,

Allah'u'Abha,

My name is Genta. I have been always involved with the issue of the progress of women.  I was so happy to know about this network, because it could be very helpul for approaching women all over the world.

We know that "...as woman advances toward the degree of man in power and privilege, with the right of vote and control in human government, most assuredly war will cease; for woman is naturally the most devoted and staunch advocate of international peace..." from the Writings.

It was 1995, in Tirana, Albania, where a Baha'i Regonial Conference was held. By that time I was a law student and a three years old Baha'i. To my good luck, I was appointed not only as one of the members of the Organizing Committee but, I was honoured to be in the presence of Amatu'l-BahaŽ.  It was a very special task, for the importance of which I would think more later on.

So, I was blessed to be with Ruhhiyyih Khanum in different meetings, interpreting.

Other people helped with this, too. But I had the chance to be with Her more, even at the Hotel or having lunch or handling a private conversation. I could recall strong emotions when I was translating, thinking that if I was correct enough or was I worth enough to do that. I remember being so focused when I had the chance to be in
free conversations. Amat'ul-Baha' had such a power that there was no need sometimes for words. I found her personality so radiant that it could easily affect other people around.

I would like to share with you one of the pictures I have from that time. Amat'ul Baha' was accompanied by Violeta Nahjavani, a wonderful lady. This picture was taken after an interview by the National Public Television in Tirana.

Thank you very much and I wish all my best to all of you.

I am including as well a recent picture of me and my four years daughter Glafki. All my warmest regards. Genta
