Mamanjoun or Soldier of Baha’u’llah

Mamanjoun or Soldier of Baha’u’llah tells the story of how an ordinary woman achieved extraordinary life victories by overcoming adversity and embracing daunting life challenges.

Rouhangiz Meshkinnafas Javid straddled two centuries. Born at the end of the nineteenth century, she became a trail-blazer for her sisters of that generation – not through her own choice, but rather because of monumental decisions that she chose to meet head on rather than evade. She was truly a woman ahead of her time, not only by Iranian standards, but even by Western ones. She overcame myraids of obstacles that would have stopped a less energetic and fearless person - obstacles of gender, culture, religion and language. By her own admission her courage to undertake difficult and sometimes dangerous challenges came from her belief in the Baha’i teachings…..

Her beautiful and enviable "Swiss" resting place is symbolic of the transformation that occurred in her life – a life rooted in 19th century, Iran, seemingly light years behind her final homeland. She left an enduring legacy for her children, grandchildren and numerous admires around the world.

"... The photograph depicted our beloved mother, bundled up in thick pants and a warm coat, wearing heavy boots and a big fur hat; all borrowed clothes that her native Indian friends gave her to keep her warm.  You could tell from her demeanor that she felt very pleased and happy.  On the photograph, three words were written: "Soldier of Baha'u'llah""
