european Bahá'í
women's network

latest update: January 08, 2008

His Holiness Baha'u'llah has greatly strengthened the cause of women, and the rights and privileges of women is one of the greatest principles of 'Abdu'l-Baha. Rest ye assured! Ere long the days shall come when the men addressing the women, shall say: 'Blessed are ye! Blessed are ye! Verily ye are worthy of every gift. Verily ye deserve to adorn your heads with the crown of everlasting glory, because in sciences and arts, in virtues and perfections ye shall become equal to man, and as regards tenderness of heart and the abundance of mercy and sympathy ye are superior'.

         -- 'Abdu'l-Bahá -- Paris Talks. [1912] 1995: 183-184.

“A vision without a task is a dream.

A task without a vision is drudgery.

But a task with a vision can change the world”

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

I have in My hand two boxes
Which God gave me to hold.

He said:”Put all your sorrows in the brown
and all your joys in the gold.”

I heeded His words and in the two boxes
both my joys and sorrows I store.

But though the gold became heavier each day,
the brown was as light as before.

With curiosity I opened the brown
I wanted to find out why.

And I saw in the base of the box a hole,
which my sorrows had fallen out by.

I showed the hole to God , and mused aloud:
“I wonder where my sorrows could be”.

He smiled a gentle smile at me
“My child, they’re all here with me."

I asked:”God, why give me boxes?
Why the gold and the brown with the hole?”

"My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings
the brown is for you to let go.”

www.myhero.com

Dear Ladies at EBWN:

I am very proud and happy to announce that the web pages I created for Myhero Project about Zoroaster, The Báb, Bahá'u'lláh, and Abdu´l-Bahá have been accepted for the web.  The Myhero Project is a world teaching project and it includes the biographies of many heroes.  Among the "heroes of faith" heroes are now the Bahá'í central figures and also Zoroaster, that were missing.

Yasmina from Spain          Don't miss it!!! EBWN
